The most commonly used gasket in shell and tube heat exchangers is the smooth double jacket style. We have an important stock of raw material and state-of-the-art equipment with which we manufacture a wide range of sizes, shapes and materials. According to the user’s needs and operational variables, the gasket is designed and\/or built. They are built according to ASME B16.20 and TEMA standards. The most common materials that we have in stock are carbon steel, stainless steel 304 and 316, bronze, copper and Monel\u00ae 600.<\/p>\n

Flexilatina of Colombia is a representative for the manufacture and commercialization of double jacketed gaskets of Lamons Gasket Company, a world leader in the design and manufacture of gaskets and fixing accessories.<\/p>\n

Double jacket gaskets are semi-metallic gaskets, i.e., they have a metal part (shell and liner) and an internal filling in graphite, mica, ceramic or Teflon\u00ae. They are suitable to work in systems with temperatures up to 480\u00b0c.<\/p>\n

Gaskets with welded veins<\/strong><\/p>\n

The advantage of installing double jacket gaskets with welded veins is that the welding beads at the ends improve the primary sealing and the heat exchanger is less likely to generate fluid leakage to the outside. The welds applied at the ends of the gaskets must be soft; the manufacturer must guarantee a hardness equal to or less than that of the base material, so that the gaskets deform uniformly on the flanges with the force generated by the studs in the installation. Welded gaskets provide the same service as gaskets manufactured in one piece without welds and their price is reduced by a high percentage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
