Its use is recommended when:
- There is constant or alternating pumping (piston, diaphragm or peristaltic pumps).
- Gaseous or liquid media are handled at high speed that generate vibrations.
- The pressure in the process varies abruptly (water hammer, pulsations).
- It is required to extend the useful life of the pressure gauge or transmitter and keep the reading stable.
The snubber acts as a flow restrictor, dampening variations to offer a more accurate and stable reading. They are available in materials such as stainless steel or brass, and with different types of insert (sinusoidal, needle or sintered disc) depending on the application.
