What is an insulation kit?
Insulation kits are accessories for cathodic and electrical protection, and prevention of corrosion and abrasion between flanges, which in turn function as a sealing element in a variety of flanged joints.
What are the components of an insulation kit?
- Packaging: Main component, whose main purpose is to generate static sealing in the flanged joint, when the sealing element is deformed, through the appropriate torque. Allows electrical insulation between flanges. Depending on the model and application, they are manufactured in aramid fiber, phenol, or G10.
- Insulating bushing: Allows electrical insulation between the bolts and flanges of the flanged joint. These are tubes made of high resistance G10 material, with thin wall thickness.
- Insulating washer: Generates electrical insulation between the metal washers and the flanges of the flanged joint. This type of washers are generally manufactured in phenol or G10 depending on the type of model.
- Metal washer: These are metal washers made of galvanized carbon steel, sized according to ASTM F436 and allow the tightening force to be distributed evenly on the surface, reducing friction.

FLEXISOFT-PLUS INSULATION KIT
The Flexisoft-plus kit has excellent sealing properties, composed of a 1/8″ thick gasket, based on high quality aramid fibers and mineral fibers that allows generating static sealing with low torque on any type of flange. Ideal for low liability applications.
FLEXIFENOL INSULATION KIT
The Flexifenol kit is suitable for static sealing and electrical insulation of any type of flange, thanks to its 1/8″ thick gasket, manufactured from phenolic resin, with a second sealing barrier (O’ring). Ideal for medium responsibility applications.
FLEXIAGRA INSULATION KIT
The Flexiagra kit consists of a G-10 (fiberglass) packaging, 1/8″ thick, with an O’ring that provides a second sealing barrier, composed of two additional sealing elements (one for each side of the packaging). Ideal for medium and high responsibility applications.
DINAGRA INSULATION KIT
The Dinagra kit is composed of a G-10 (fiberglass) gasket with a thickness of 1/4″ or 3/8″ depending on the nominal diameter of the flange, with two PTFE O-rings with spring seal (one for each side of the packaging). Ideal for high responsibility applications.
DEFENDER INSULATION KIT
The Defender kit is ideal for providing insulation and watertightness in all types of applications; both low liability and critical, because its packaging is composed of G-10 that contains a 316 stainless steel core and additionally has two or more PTFE O-rings with spring seal (one for each face of the packaging).
