Total success at the XIV Colombian Oil and Gas Congress held from November 22 to 25, 2014 in Corferias, Bogotá Colombia. We received more than 200 visits to our stand. This fair allowed us to present some new products: – Isolation Kits for cathodic protection manufactured by Dinatecnica – Argentina – Oval wheel and mass flow meters, level meters and density and concentration meters. These devices are manufactured by Bopp & Reuther of Germany.

When NOT to do flexibility analysis (Pipe Stress Analysis)

Pipe Flexibility Analysis

System:

* Twin to another that is working (diameter, geometry, temperature, material)
* Similar to another with a larger diameter that is working.
* At room temperature
* Buried pipe
* With a diameter less than or equal to 2 1/2″

When to do flexibility analysis (Pipe Stress Analysis)

Systems:

* With severe operating conditions.
* High risk (temperature > 300 ºC) or dangerous fluids that can cause serious damage.
* That have sensitive equipment and require studies that allow manufacturers to release their equipment with a guarantee.
* That there is maximum interest in economics by having special material.
* Excessively rigid due to having large diameters or wall thicknesses.
* Which must be located in existing facilities with space restrictions.

Why it should be done

* Protection of the infrastructure that will support the pipeline
* Protection of sensitive equipment connected to the system.
* Tube protection.

How to do it

You should try by all means to maintain the geometry designed by the client

* Using flexible elements (Expansion Joints, Spring Supports)
* Changing the geometry (reducing disproportions between sides, improving symmetry, increasing the length of the pipe, going from flat to three-dimensional systems).
* Unlocking the system; The more free a system is, the more self-flexible it is.

* Replace fixed points with other types of supports.

* Change supports.
* Pretensioning (Cold Spring)
