Rectangular Metal Expansion Joints REF:MEJ-SQ
Rectangular metal expansion joints are designed to absorb movements caused by thermal expansion and/or mechanical vibration in duct systems.
The flexible element of the metallic expansion joints is the bellows, which is regularly manufactured in austenitic stainless steels AISI 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 321, 347; or in special alloys such as Inconel®, Incoloy®, Monel® or Hastelloy®.
Metal expansion joints, reference MEJ-SQ, are manufactured by Flexilatina of Colombia. Their most common shape is rectangular, although we also make them square, hexagonal or octagonal. This flexible accessory is designed to cushion, absorb and compensate movements caused by thermal expansion and/or vibration. The main objective is to provide flexibility in ducts and lower the stresses created in a system.
The MEJ-SQ expansion joint designs are made following the manufacturing and quality criteria of EJMA and ASME Section VIII division 1 and 2.
The most important part of an expansion joint is the bellows, which must be strong and flexible to withstand axial compression and/or elongation, lateral or transverse and/or angular movements. This type of joint is manufactured including in its design a refractory material box, this design extends the service life of the bellows and allows the use of less expensive materials, being much less costly.
This design extends the life of the bellows and allows the use of less expensive materials, being much lower the temperature that reaches the bellows.
Simple type: The simple type bellows corner design is the most commonly used in the manufacture of standard rectangular gaskets.
