Spring pipe supports are fittings designed to provide elastic support to pipes, allowing them to expand and contract due to temperature changes without causing excessive stresses. These supports use springs to absorb vibrations and movements of the pipe, preventing damage and prolonging its useful life.
Selecting a spring support
The correct selection of supports is defined by a previous flexibility study (Pipe Stress Analysis), in which the forces and movements at the support points are calculated. There are two types of spring supports to support the pipe:
Variable load supports
Variable load spring supports are external accessories to the pipes, they are mounted to allow vertical movement of the pipes but always supporting the weight of the pipe.

Constant load supports
Constant load spring supports are accessories that are mounted external to the pipe and that fulfill the function of supporting the weight of the pipe, allowing its vertical movement, caused by thermal expansion. The loads corresponding to the pipe are absorbed and transferred constantly throughout the entire movement path, without significant deviations.
Significant deviations would act as additional harmful and uncontrolled loads on the system. In this case, the anchoring points would be in particular danger, due to forces and moments greater than admissible. These constant load spring supports have proven their efficiency in all types of operational conditions.
