Complies with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Section VIII 2021 and the BPVC (Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code) 2025 SectionXIII, the use of a PRD pressure relief device is mandatory in hermetic containers that have design pressure > 15 PSI. One of the two devices that the standard accepts are rupture discs.

Fike rupture discs can be supplied with FDA, ATEX or ASME Certifications.

In Fike rupture discs, type G2, the pressure hits on the convex side, this guarantees its perfect functioning, and also gives it many other advantages over discs where the pressure hits the concave side.

Custom designed solutions

Fike offers custom pressure relief solutions beyond standard options through specialized equipment, an in-house ASME certified laboratory and extensive experience. The company manufactures rupture discs from very small to very large sizes (⅛” up to 42″), using standard materials to special alloys such as titanium, Hastelloy®, gold or silver, to accommodate particular thermal, chemical and corrosion requirements. Additionally, Fike performs rigorous pressure, backpressure, vacuum, leak, and cycle life testing to ensure the final product meets the customer’s exact specifications and ensures safety and reliability.
