Lamons, approved by the American Petroleum Institute as a Level 4 supplier of ring joint gaskets, manufactures a wide variety of solid ring gaskets type RTJ in standard sizes to API 6A, API 17D and ASME B16.20 specifications.
RTJ gaskets (ring joint gaskets) are configured in two types, oval cross sectional (style 377) and octagonal cross sectional (style 388). Both are used in pressures up to 10,000 psi (64 Mpa). The dimensions are standardized and require a special finish for installation in the flange grooves. The octagonal type has a higher efficiency, as far as sealing is concerned. However, only the Oval type can be used in flanges with a circular section groove.
The ring hardness should always be lower than the hardness of the flanges to avoid deformation of the latter.
We have a wide stock of Ring joints available in oval and octagonal profiles, in standard metallic materials such as soft iron (D), low carbon steel (S), Chrome 4-6 (F-5) and S.S 304 (S304) and in exotic profiles and metals for demanding applications and operating conditions.
