In very corrosive environments, problems arise with this grade of material due to its chemical composition. For this reason, grade B8 Cl1 is purchased as an alternative to avoid wear caused by corrosion; This grade of material has a low yield strength compared to a grade B7 stud, so it should only be used in low liability applications. To improve the corrosion resistance of grade B7 there are various alternatives, since there are different coatings that allow it to provide a layer of protection against corrosion, without affecting its mechanical properties, for example, they still have a high elastic limit and additional protection against corrosion.
